Ironstone Recruitment are looking for caring, resilient people for a new children’s home, providing support for one child aged between 7-12 at point of admission, who needs support and safeguarding due to displaying harmful sexualised behaviour. You will be part of a new team where the child is respected, listened to, and involved in as many decisions as possible.
The home is easily commutable from Salisbury.
Emotional resilience is key to this role as the child you will be supporting may display harmful sexualised behaviour and will need supporting adults to form a team who can confidently respond and safeguard. The vacancy would suit someone with a background in mental health support.
The role can be challenging. The child may have attachment difficulties and struggle to manage their emotions. With the training provided you will need to be committed to empathising with the child.
Your day will be varied with a planned structure, supporting the child to learn healthy routines, take them to appointments, help with schooling and trips.
We are currently seeking someone with experience and/or QCF Level 3/4 in Children and Young people. However, the right attitude, dedication, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.
- 30 days (22 days plus 8 bank holidays) annual leave allowance

Requirements
- Good written and IT skills.
- UK Driving Licence is desirable
- Able to communicate with children, colleagues, and external customers.
- Able to actively listen to others.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Be calm in situations of crisis and follow the lead of a shift leader.
- QCF Level 3/4 in Children and Young people.
- Be committed to ongoing professional development and achieve the Level 4 diploma in Children and Young people.
