Ironstone Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Registered Manager working within a specialist therapeutic home for children with developmental trauma. The ethos of the company is that all children can heal and grow given consistent care in a safe and loving environment, by highly trained professionals who focus on facilitating their recovery. You will work closely with a team of Clinical & Educational Psychologists in a senior management role establishing a therapeutic culture, developing a team to provide the highest standards of care within Ofsted’s regulations. You will manage safeguarding policies, establish continuous care, be responsible for the children’s admission & placement terminations and work with the Responsible Individual to ensure all staff participate in on going training. You will ensure that individual placement plans are in place for each child, encouraging them to participate in tailored assessments, receiving an appropriate, high quality education. You will ensure that all HR practices are complied with, financial and admin procedures are followed, organise rotas, staff recruitment, chair meetings as necessary and be part of the on-call support system for staff.
You will need:
Level5 in Leadership & Development or a commitment to undertake this training.
2 years experience of managing a residential setting for children & young people, preferably within a therapeutic sector.
Experience of staff & budget management, risk management, & to maintaining a culture of service excellence.
An advanced knowledge of child protection policies & procedures, an understanding of best practice in equality and diversity and a working knowledge of The Children’s Homes regulations & The Children Act. Also an understanding of the Guide to Children’s Homes Regulations and the SCCIF, together with full awareness of current changes taking place, keeping up to date across the sector.
A high level of communication skills with an ability to negotiate and influence effectively, building an open network of relationships with colleagues and regulators.
Excellent communication, numeracy, literacy & technology skills. Able to work within a team, committing to achieve the best outcomes for the children.
